Marshall Bruce Marthers III & Jarad Anthony Higgins. (2020) Godzilla [Performed by Eminem & Juice WRLD] Music To Be Murdered By. [Audio file] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_0JjYUe5jo&ab_channel=LyricalLemonade
Media language
This was song was Written by Eminem and Juice WRLD and was performed by both respectfully in 2020, the music video was about the influence of alcohol which was somewhat similar to what our music video was about if the alcohol were drugs instead. In the video we can see Eminem stumbling all over the place after drinking a huge amount of alcohol and every he gets super drunk the song and the beat slows down and becomes muffled. There is also the appearance of Mike Tyson for some people who know the fact that he used to be heavily influence by drugs and alcohol and is currently recovering from it and the fact that he is performing surgery on Eminem later proves that he is over his alcoholism.
Representation
The video is clearly made for the Godzilla movie for the theaters but it has a other meaning behind this as the song and lyrics where made to be relatable to people that had been influenced by alcohol as Eminem again can be shown going every where under the influence doing things and hallucinating as he drank too much alcohol, the shady places of his hallucinations and the random missile launcher he picked up from the counter and the fact he started to imagine he's throwing up Legos further solidifies the fact.
Audience
This music was obviously made for people going through alcohol addiction and Eminem fans but not only that, there was also an unexpected appearance on Mike Tyson, fans of the legendary Iron Mike might recognize the boxing champ and might be more enticed to watch and possibly share the video to other fellow Mike Tyson fans, the same thing can be said for the amazing vocal performance from Juice WRLD.
Industry
The was 2 different product placement in this video on being the new LG V60 ThinQ was used by an unnamed white woman and when she was using it the phone showcases it's grate camera lenses and the fact that it has a split screen feature before cutting to the front of the phone to show the LG brand another product placement there is Legos when Eminem can be seen throwing up Legos.
David Algernon Bayley. (2020) Heat Waves [Performed by Glass Animals] Dreamland. [Audio file] https://youtu.be/mRD0-GxqHVo
Media language
This song was written by David Algernon Bayley and was performed by the Glass animals on 2020 the video has such a simple plot which is the lead singer just trying to get to the stage while being being recorded by his fans from their houses and the videos they recorded of him walking was then sent to him to fill in some of the empty spots in the video. It also represents some of the minority races living in nice a neighborhood and I like how they used the urban setting to play in to the transition as the red bus passes by with the Glass Animals poster which also teases the song and their new tour in the music video.
Representation
The time of the song's released around 2020 which was in the middle of the Covid-19 breakout and the setting of the video shows as much by having a completely empty neighborhood road which has barely any parking spots left which symbolizes the fact that people can't go out during that time due to the Covid-19 breakout. Th video kind of subverts some of the common expectations of a music video on of these examples is only having 2 scenes and the fact that it only switch between them twice unlike with most music videos which has multiple scenes and background which they will switch around in a frequent manner.
Audience
This song was made for the younger kids as seen by its over usage in TikToks videos and on how depressing it sounds which unironically appeals to the edgy 14 year-olds with brightly colored or black hair. Or this could also appeal to young adults in their 20s as the genre of this type of music has been on the rise lately and has been attracting much younger people around the ages of 12-20+.
The target audience for heat waves is people under going the Covid-19 quarantine typically those who are born before Covid-19 as it shows that the singer is singing alone in an empty stage with TVs of his prerecorded friends which really sets in the loneliness of quarantine. As before the pandemic they were free to go outside and hangout with their friends or loved ones instead of being locked up at home due to a certain virus breakout from Wuhan.
Industry
Due to its popularity with the younger generation and the creation of TikTok they not only get free advertisement for their song but also by said younger people using their songs in TikTok other people that has never heard the song might be attracted to it and be more incline to search it up which is where YouTube comes in to play. By already having their song be released on YouTube those curious people can just find it their or on their Spotify. (2020 the year where music is literally available from anywhere).
Young, J (2011) Tiger Blood. [Performed by The Vaccines] On What did you expect from The Vaccines. [Audio file] Retrieved from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMQi0aTm8Ho&ab_channel=TheVaccinesVEVO
The song was composed by Young, J around 2011 and was performed by The Vaccines the music video was a low budget road trip video with clips of them actually playing the song in a live concert. The video itself is unique as it subverts the common conventions of most music videos of it's type by showing clips of them playing in a concert and just messing around in a random location which I find intriguing. The overall grainy 1980s grainy camera filter is a fantastic take which makes the video seems nostalgic to an extent with the addition to it being stupid easy to apply said filter to the entire video.
Jeff Lynne (1977) Mr. Blue Sky [performed by ELO] On Out of the Blue. [Audio file] Retrieved from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQUlA8Hcv4s&ab_channel=ELOVEVO
Mr. Blue Sky is a song that has become quite popular with the youth recently due to the amount of memes that has been surfacing. Due to its upbeat nature it has been a popular pick to pair with a dark topic in a video.
(example: using this as background music for a school shooting film)
I like how the music video itself is just the band performing the music which is not just a low budget way to record a music video but it is also a genius way to portray the band in the flesh.
Mumford & Sons (2012) Hopeless Wanderer. On Babel.[Audio file] Retrieved from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rId6PKlDXeU&t=215s&ab_channel=MumfordAndSonsVEVO
The song was written and performed by the Mumford & Sons. First of all the setting is in the country side like in a farm of some sort and that most people think that this is going to be a country music but then the song just pulled a 180 on you and turns into a gay pop rock (the kissing was not scripted and unexpected which was really just comedic and further increases the comediennes of the video). I also like the part where the made fun on how serious the mood of the song was and just turn it into a funny parody and I especially like the ending part of the song where it just straight up becomes a chaotic rock concert (refer to this time stamp 3:35).
Youngblood is a hit banger from 2018 that was performed by the equally famous 5 Seconds of Summer band. This song is just about remembering the good old days and youth and it also tells you to live your life to the fullest. The message of this masterpiece is the one thing I like about it and also it's overall wild nature of it's music video is just great.

Mike Hazlewood / Thomas Edward Yorke / Albert Hammond / Philip Selway / Edward O'brien / Jonathan Greenwood / Colin Greenwood (1992) Creep. [Performed by RadioHead] [Audio file] Retrived from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFkzRNyygfk&ab_channel=Radiohead
Creep was a song made in 1992 by RadioHead which sing about how the main singer doesn't fit in to society and declares himself and I really like that because I can connect to this on a emotional level, even listening to this gives me depression, another thing I like is how simple the actual music video is its just maybe 3 cameras positioned in different parts of the studio to record the band performing which I find quite creative as by having multiple camera we can just switch and cut into each cameras for more angles for the music video.
